Snake catcher David Walton was called to the property in Brinsmead, Cairns, on Thursday after a terrified elderly woman reported the bizarre incident.
The experienced reptile removalist was shocked at the size of the Amethystine python, which was sprawled up across the wall at 11am.
‘Because the window was glass, the snake couldn’t understand what it was,’ he told Daily Mail Australia.

‘It was banging its nose against the wall trying to get in. The low of 20C is quite low for Cairns… It was just trying to get inside to get warm.’
‘The owner is quite paranoid. In the past many snake skins had been found although the snake could never be located,’ he said.
