Sirius College, had 14 students score an ATAR above 95

SCHOOLS across Hume are celebrating the
achievements of VCE students, with the release of results this morning. The Victorian Tertiary and Admissions
Centre has today published the ATAR scores and individual study scores of more
than 49,700 VCE students across the state.Sirius College, in Broadmeadows, had 14
students score an ATAR above 95 (the highest possible result is 99.95).

Twenty students at the college also
recorded an ATAR of above 90, and 35 students above 80.

The dux of the school was Ertugrul
Erciyas, who achieved an impressive ATAR score of 99.50.

In addition, his fellow students Rami
Dennaoui and Harun Ergi received perfect study scores of 50, for Further Maths
and Computing: Informatics.

These scores put Rami and Harun among
the first-placed students in the state for each subject.

Other high achievers at Sirius College
included students Zamzam Wardere, who recorded an ATAR of 98.5 and Muhammad
Siddiqui with a score of 98.45.

GLADSTONE PARK SECONDARY COLLEGE

At Gladstone Park Secondary College, 160
students completed Year 12 with 17 receiving ATARs above 90.

Senior school principal Michael Keenan
said the dux of the school was awarded an ATAR of 98.70.

Mr Keenan said in addition, another
student achieved a perfect study score, getting 50/50 in Business Management.

The college was “absolutely” proud of
all of its students, he said, and would hold a special ceremony for students
who had scored 90 or above for their ATAR later this week.

“The high achievers and their parents
will come to meet staff on Wednesday morning,” he said.

MOUNT RIDLEY P-12 COLLEGE

At Mount Ridley P-12 College in
Craigieburn, senior years principal Con Stamatelatos said about 170 students
completed their VCE, VOCAL and VET studies.

“We’re in our second year, we’re in very
new terms as a secondary school and we were delighted to have a reasonable
number of students who received ATAR scores above 80 and 90,” he said.

Mr Stamatelatos said the school’s dux,
who came from a refugee and non-English speaking background, achieved a 92.30
ATAR score.

Mr Stamatelatos said this was a
“fantastic result”.

He said students at the school also did
well in English and Business Management.

“Our results are better than they were
last year — and we were pleasantly surprised last year,” he said.

“So we’re heading in the direction we
want to.”

AITKEN COLLEGE

Aitken College principal Josie Crisara
said more than 120 students completed VCE and VCAL at the Greenvale school.

“We’ve actually had our best results
ever in terms of student’s ATAR scores,” she said.

The school also had a pair of students
who are dual duxes.

Ms Crisara said students did well in
subjects including English, PE, Psychology, Sociology, Business Management and
Product Design and Technology.

PENOLA CATHOLIC COLLEGE

At Penola Catholic College in
Broadmeadows, principal Chris Caldow said 231 students completed VCE and 27 did
VCAL.

The dux of the school received an ATAR
of 98.6.

Mr Caldow said one student also achieved
a perfect study score in the subject of Outdoor Education.

“We’re very delighted with the results
and very proud of our students,” Mr Caldow said.

ST MARY’S COPTIC ORTHODOX COLLEGE

At St Mary’s Coptic Orthodox College in
Coolaroo, Shady Elyas has been named dux with an ATAR score of 99.6.

Other students who received outstanding
ATARs were John Awad with 98.65 and Fady Gris on 98.6.

Students have until 5pm on 14 December
to change their university and TAFE preferences. Students can contact the Post
Results inquiry service on 1800 653 080.

HUME ANGLICAN GRAMMAR

Twenty-eight students completed the VCE
at Hume Anglican Grammar in Mickleham this year.

Principal Bill Sweeney said 38 per cent
of the students achieved an ATAR score above 70.

“The top score was 88.5, which was a
good score,” he said.

He said several students did well in
Business Management and the sciences, including Chemistry, Biology and Physics.

“We’re very, very excited for the
students, they got some really good results,” Mr Sweeney said.

“The staff are very pleased for them and
for the community who helped them to achieve these results.

Mr Sweeney said the school’s dux, and
also the student with the second-highest ATAR score, would be invited back to
speak at a school assembly next year.

He said the school would also host a
morning tea for students when university offers were released in mid-January/Heraldsun
